Not really, not if you use fast travel. It definitely has sandbox elements, but it's not your typical sandbox where you must find everything on your own.
I'm working on infrastructure for Chapter 2. Meaning I'm trying to make the code better for the next game at the moment. Which is a continuation of this one! So where this story ends, that one will pick up.
I don't have a lot for chapter 2 at the moment, I have to admit. I had a child recently, so I've put this on the back burner. But in the last 2 months I've started picking up a lot of steam, and I've been steadily working on the code.
Plus, my baby is almost 3 months old, so she can take care of herself. So by the end of the month I think I'll have a sample for everyone to play.

Yes, that's an end game selection. There are multiple endings possible. I would at least see them all once. Saving at that menu is a good place to have a persistent save.

Ehh? I've not heard of that error before. I can't really help you, I didn't know the game engaged with any Java. Sorry I'm not more help, but I really cannot figure what that's about.
I think it was a website error. my Pc crashed some time later and i just retried downloading and it worked so maybe i needed to restart my browser or something.
incase anyone else (future comment readers) has a similar experience a browser restart or pc restart might be needed.
if your pc crashes you may have a virus on it. Or too many items processing in the background. Check your task manager to see what is running on your pc. If it’s not the above it could be a faulty fan in the pc causing it to shut down. Depends on your make and model it maybe cheaper to buy a used one from your local pawnshop and you can offer a lower price for the item. I suggest you offer around 80-90% of the price they listed. Hope this helps ;)

Wartribe Academy has gorgeous GFX, good writing, well-thought characters. There’s plenty of action, with more-than-usual amount of incest :) But what I personally dislike, is theme:
MC is just a pawn in a matriarchal society. Has almost no agency, except for the part, when he cleans up someone else’s mess. There’s a lot of intrigue, manipulation, deception. Villains are let go with no consequences. MC seems to say and do what the powers that be want and what would give him hopefully the best outcome; is left in the dark and manipulated from the start. Heck, half of the Romantic Interests despise, deceive and use him and later he apologises to them XD
It’s like reading Robin Hobb’s Farseer trilogy once again. Or Song of Ice and Fire, to some extent. If you like misery porn, Wartribe Academy is a gift that keeps on giving. I personally have enough of that in real life and expect something else in my entertainment.
Hats off to the author, Mr Rooster, for picturing what a life of a newbie prince would look like, in a world where dirty politics are bread and butter and intrugue thrives on the unsuspecting / naive (the MC).

This chapter ends with the MC in dire straights, that's for certain. And it's not wrong to say that he puts up with a lot throughout the journey, as he tries to stay muted in a place where he hopes to find answers. He lets people walk over him.
That vibe won't be present in the next act, as he quickly finds that the things keeping him restrained are no longer valid. I look forward to writing an aggressive story with a proactive MC. Who takes to task the people that have subjected him to any turmoil. Consider it a long form "Dom Loss". Anyways, it's the game I wanted to see, so I hope people end up enjoying it in the end.

I know that there are lots of light-hearted AVNs but the “struggle stuff” AVNs are no less enjoyable.
Back in Brandon Sanderson’s “The Way of Kings” there is a story of emancipation for one of the main characters - Kaladin. At the end of the book, all the tribulations are repaid and the new found status of the guy is so much more rewarding and the journey worthwhile thanks to the really hard hardships :P on the way. While not really similar to Wartribe Academy, a fulfilling payoff (in Part 2) would make it an overall enjoyable journey, and this is what I wish for this project.

Is it even possible to beat Darius? I mean seriously triple digit damage on practically every hit. Why even bother to give a consequence warning if you can't win for Magna?
Holy shit. What an ending. It was both shocking and surprisingly not. The ending feels like check-mate. A key piece of the puzzle drops into place, and so many seemingly random things from before come together, and I went, "Of course!"

Yes. Each route produces different scenes. The general rule of thumb is that each girl has two routes that ultimately converge.

Hard to say. As the maker I would say, it just depends on how you feel towards Rhea. If you want to be her friend, I wouldn't manipulate Joy.

when i launch the game (on itch.io) it does not launch, like it say, "launched" but nothing appeared ? any idea how to fix that ?
There should be a .exe file wherever in your computer you have your itch games. You can load the game there. the first time start up can take a while.

He has a fixed pattern of attacks, you just have to learn the pattern to know when to defend, parry, heal and attack him when it's best.
